The Spam Thread!
huckleberrypie Wrote:Yeah I've heard some horror stories regarding the use of Windows-based BIOS flashing utilities.

I have updated Wendell's BIOS three times using a Windows-based "Insyde Flash" utility, and each one has worked flawlessly, without any problems or Wendell becoming unresponsive. So, yes, I actually trust the Windows based utility that Toshiba provides for BIOS updates.

And I had another fender-bender.

Just great. Not only I do not have my laptop back, I lost my car as well...

Maybe it's time to get a new car. Perhaps one with a license plate that didn't have such an unlucky number.

A feng-shui book I've read says that plates with the numbers '5' and '3' in it are bad for water dogs. Well, given my tendency to have fender benders with this car every 6 months (sometimes my fault, other times a cruel trick of the traffic or the other person's fault), I'm starting to agree...

Whoever that though that connecting a school's enterences directly to a major highway should be executed. It only resulted in a very unstable highway traffic- one second fast flowing, and another a sudden grind to a halt. And that's why I crashed. Traffic was smooth flowing, I thought it was safe to grab a bottle of water for a drink, and when I turned back, traffic had suddenly halted because some a-hole of the car in the front stopped his car to pick up his kid, and made me run into another car behind his car.

Hmmm, either Pony Maker is region locked, or the site is darn slow- I'm only getting a blank screen at this time...

Edit: Nvm, finally loaded after 10 whole minutes of waiting. Guess it's just overly slow.

Well, for one thing, you should never take your eyes off the road to grab something while you are driving in such unpredictable traffic. It's called "distracted driving", and it's just as bad as looking at your cellphone while driving. I would never do that if I ever get a car because I don't want to get into an accident, no matter what kind of accident it is.

As for wishing execution on someone who designed a building...I'm not going to say much other than the fact this shouldn't be the forum to say that. Kids may end up viewing this thread, or the forum may get a new influx of members somehow. I will admit that kind of design is very short sighted.

I would love to go to a midnight premiere of The Lorax, but I don't have anyone to go with. My husband wants to see the movie, but he goes to work in the middle of the night, so he isn't really up for that.

Thank you all for your prayers and concern! Of course I came back alive!

If anything ever happens to me where I won't be able to talk for weeks, James will make mention of it on the forum and keep you updated.

"Asperger's disease?" Now, that's rude! They have the mentality of Autism Speaks, which is quite dangerous.

Autism $peaks, in a nutshell:
"Give us money so we can wipe you out and endanger the existences of your future descendants! After all, the only cure for autism is to stop autistic people from being born! We don't care about your rights, because obviously you lack empathy for other people because we like to simplify everything to make us sound good. We'll use the rest of the money to make scary advertisements about you being suuuuuch an epidemic soulless burrrrden, and also we will use the money to pay for our own expensive lifestyles. Did we mention we call ourselves a nonprofit charity?"

Kiwifruit Jam Wrote:Anyway, how is it possible that everywhere I go online, no matter how small community it is, I do find autistic people? It seems like aspies and auties find each other.

Because the Internet is a very popular place for socially odd* gather, especially to talk about interests, and those who are nonverbal often communicate through typing.

* All disabilities are social, though. It's just that when a disability doesn't impact people physically or academically, social differences are all that are noticed by casual observers.
