The Spam Thread!
I was so impressed by the SNES Lion King's music that I sold off my Genesis version to help me purchase the SNES port of Doom. I later did find out through my attempted gameplay that the SNES rendition of "Can't Wait" is indeed shorter than the Genesis rendition.

And now, time to share my current computer desk setup.

I found my letter stickers and made their names official. A few notes about what happened to that large record player thing. I still plan to keep it for records, but I have a clock radio with a true stereo cassette player and FM radio. The cassette player is also slightly better than the previous huge record player thing and has the same balance and tone controls as the old unit. I swapped it out with this. I use the headphone jack and a 3.5mm cable to send audio to Ruby and adjust audio levels with the volume knob.

The Intellivision controller is the most awkward I have ever used so far. It takes a lot of trial and error to hold it comfortably to play Astrosmash or Brickout.

That's nothing compared to the Dina lol. For some strange reason Bit Corporation decided to integrate the keypad into the console itself, and since the wired controls are made with the SG-1000 in mind, playing Colecovision games that call for two controllers would be nigh impossible.

Ugh, withdrawal syndromes can lead one all over the place. I just got the urge to listen to The Silly Song from Dragon Tales followed by Lady Madonna by the Beatles on repeat.

So, there is a small program being distrubuted through Windows Update that places a small icon in the system tray if your run Windows 7 or 8/8.1. It's a little tool that allows you to reserve the free upgrade to Windows 10.

Windows 10 looks interesting, and I'm glad they brought the Start menu back (mixed in with live tiles of course), but I don't think Greta's games will run well under Win10 after their framerates dropped horribly with Win8.1. Win7 runs just fine and by the time it's support cycle ends in 2020, Greta will be eight years old if she still working well.

Thus, I uninstalled the update responsible for this, KB3035583.

KB3035583 won't kick in if your Windows copy is appropriated, obviously. I personally don't mind that myself, as I can get a standalone installer anyway.

I'm taking the update. As mentioned before, I'm having countless issues with Windows 8.1 regarding WiFi and Bluetooth. The WiFi issue is especially irritating and tiresome, and bluetooth now requires a lot of digging to work. And I hate it that several programs are not showing in the Start Screen (namely, Visual Studio 2013). I'm hoping that Windows 10 fixes that (since I can never downgrade to Windows 7 unless I want to use MBR partitioning, since for idiotic reasons Microsoft won't allow you to install Windows 7 onto a GPT disk in legacy mode, never mind that it can be done).

I still hate Microsoft for not making any of the XBox service except XBox Live Basic available in Malaysia. Not being able to watch Youtube on an XBox just because I don't have a premium account is rage-inducing. I can watch Youtube on my PS3 without a PS+ account. Also, I found out that XBox TV carries Arthur. I'd kill to watch Arthur right now.

I read up on your WiFi issues a few pages back, and now that I think about it, I have never encountered Win8.1 having trouble reconnecting automatically when our WiFi router goes down. We had a problem last year when our WiFi router would just stop sending an SSID or signal. It's not a mobile WiFi pebble, but it's responsible for our homes WiFi. Any WiFi device I own couldn't see our router when it did this. When our router did finally come back on, Win8.1 automatically reconnected just like it should, though it took somewhat longer than Greta or Hazel. This was when I was using that cheapo $5 WiFi adapter with Audrey.

As for Visual Studio 2013 not showing up on the Start screen, are the shortcuts not showing under "All Apps?" If they are not, you should check the Start Menu folders in the "Users" folder. When I installed programs with Win8/8.1, they showed up under "All Apps". It would be strange if Visual Studio 2013's shortcuts didn't appear under "All Apps".

Well, my SSID is in fact hidden. And yes, the SSID on my pebble is hidden too. Although I did try it unhidden, but the workplace's environment is "too noisy" (everyone has their own pebble or use their phone as an impromptu hotspot, thanks to the company's internet censorship on their network). A scan at my workplace reveals over a dozen SSIDs, mostly from personal hotspots or phones, but also a bunch from neighboring businesses. Maybe that's why- although I'm confused as to why the pet store that's roughly two blocks away, needs to broadcast their WiFi signal strongly, or even need WiFi at all.

As for Visual Studio, the problem is it's not showing up in "all apps". However, if I check the Start Menu folders, it's there, which to me is very weird.
