I forgot to mention... Greta will not be getting the Windows 10 upgrade as the only updated drivers are for Windows 8. I also got decreased game performance while Greta had Windows 8.1, and I assume the same will happen with 10.

So, Greta will always be a Win7 laptop, which is good since MS did wrong by removing the Aero Glass theme from Win8. The Metro theme is alright, but too flat compared to Aero Glass. Tongue

LONG LIVE SKEUMORPHISM!

Preparing to make Pablo useful and Greta sleep again.

At least in about a week or so I can finally acquire a spare power block for Pablo.

I decided to give KMPlayer a spin, and I tried to test the screencap feature for DVDs. The problem is every time I try to grab a single frame, the program freezes completely, and I have to close it with the Task Manager.

Do I have to set up KMPlayer a certain way before screencapping DVDs? I found a guide that states you have to disable a "KMP Video Transform Filter", but it seems that covers one particular screencap method... having KMPlayer automatically screencap as you play the disc.

I'm looking to just screencap single frames from DVD. Have you encountered this freezing issue, or does the procedure above also work with single frame capture?

Oh no, I haven't encountered the issue. ;-; I wish I could help.

Also sorry for the not posting. It isn't my usual reason for not posting. this time it's just the whole like.. not having a harddrive reason. Should be fixed soon. I'll try to help more with problems once I do.
It's fun to say berry! I berry talk all the day through!

That's okay. Smile Computer issues happen to us once in awhile, and I did leave a response in your thread about the hard drive problem.

I might have to troubleshoot KMPlayer on my own then. It's odd how it freezes when I try to grab a frame. Maybe I'll try that trick I found on that blog....

So far, I have only had one hard drive naturally fail on me. It was the original 40gb disk that Jasper came with. At failure time it was nearly 10 years old. No serious data loss occurred as it was demoted as a secondary disk for Linux dual-boot.

I guess I could also include the time I was a bit careless and dropped my 120gb drive on to the floor. Made drive inoperable. Sad

It was in my early days of PC maintenance, and I am far more careful now.
