The Spam Thread!
I guess the Wii really is a souped up GameCube meant for 480i. I just got done playing AC:CF using Elsie's new setup, and it actually appears sharper on Nanouk than Anna-Lena. The reason is pretty obvious here. Now if Nanouk came with a component input, I wonder how nice it would be. CRTs do have component, but it's rare.

So.. Anna-Lena is devoid of any gaming systems at the moment. Now lies the hard part... acquiring a Wii U. It's going to be awhile. I also have to acquire an HD satellite box, which is a free upgrade, but I have loads of recordings on my current DVR that I need to get off first.

There, Nanouk V2 is complete.

Some behind the scenes info: I used Elsie's Photo Channel for the Nanouk screencap, while for Anna-Lena, I used my region free DVD player via USB drive. I was originally going to use her USB port since she can display pictures or play music via a flash drive, but drives over 4GB appear to give her a seizure and she freezes completely. Thankfully I can still power her off with the remote when this happens, but I spent hours trying to find my Kingston 4gb drive to no avail. So I had to use the DVD player.

And I just remembered that I could have used Anna-Lena's HDMI Android stick because I just got it's 2-port USB hub today. Sad

Take two is coming soon....

I've decided that I can wait for the Wii U version of Animal Crossing before getting a Wii U after all. I have other commitments right now. Heck, I'm not even playing Animal Crossing frequently anymore (mostly only checking in on the town every few days or so- made possible thanks to the edict to keep the town clean that forces the villagers to handle weeding).

I'm spending far too much time in Harvest Moon as of late. That game is demanding >.>

Well, I will stay away from Harvest Moon now.

As for AC:CF, I'm doing a better job keeping up with my town. So far...
-I acquired the entire Easter Egg set for my house and arranged it nicely. Scored big points from the HRA.
-It's summer, and it's prime time to go and harvest Evening Cicadas and other bugs for [strike]profit[/strike] [strike]blowing the funds at GracieGrace[/strike] paying off my mortgage to that raccoon in the apron.
-Finally met Wisp, found his lamp and had him grant me the wish for clearing all of Birdwell's weeds.
-I found out that AC:CF doesn't recognize SD cards above 2gb, so I can no longer save photos. Sad

Finally spending some quality gameplay time with Elsie. Not just AC:CF... I'm getting around to playing some of the games in her Virtual Console collection. I may even get some more VC games later tonight, as they have some neat looking Neo-Geo games available.

Currently, I'm tackling the original Super Mario Bros 2. Not the US NES version... the original Japanese release from 1986. Even for a well seasoned Mario player like me, SMB2-J can be very difficult at times. I spent about 45 minutes total trying to clear World 5.

Cool. Smile What neat things did you do during your vacation? And how was the shopping, if any was done?

Went to HK Disneyland, because it was my dream since I was still in elementary school to go to Disneyland. The other days were spent walking around town taking some pictures. I'll post some of them later.

Nice! Smile

I never been to either Disney park in the US yet. If I were to go to one in the future, I would prefer Disneyland in California over Walt Disney World in Florida. I never been to California or Hollywood, and they have wonderful attractions and fast food outlets there. Smile

Did you end up visiting any HK shopping mall? They are bound to have those there.

Today is that day where people celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence by lighting fireworks, having cookouts, going to Main Street Carnivals, and just spending time together.

Elsewhere, it's just another day.
