I'll take note of this, as the urge to get ACNL just rose a bit by that knowledge.

Remember Nanouk, my little CRT TV set I use for classic Sega or Nintendo games? Well, meet Nanouk V2, a 27'' Sansui TVS2746B.

Turns out, once you experience retro games via direct composite video connection on a CRT, you can't go back to plain Jane RF. Nanouk V1 only had RF input, and I had to use a somewhat confusing setup involving an RF adapter to play the games, and picture quality suffered. Not anymore.

Nanouk V2 has a front AV input, and a rear AV input with SVideo capability. Retro games look wonderful and large.

Oh, standard definition TV also looks fine, but has dot crawl due to being unable to use SVideo the way things are connected. Anna-Lena still is king (or queen? Tongue ) in picture quality overall.

Since Nanouk V2 finally arrived, I can enjoy classic retro games again. Lately, I have been playing through the original Legend of Zelda for the NES.

I originally played through this game back in 2008 or 2009, with extensive help from an online walkthrough. This time around, I intend to get through the game without resorting to any help.... well...

I am nearly finished with the first quest, as I am now at Death Mountain dungeon. Surprisingly, I figured out nearly all the secrets and dungeons on my own. I forgot most of the walkthrough I used in the previous run, but I still remembered some secrets well. The only real time I had to get outside help was to find Dungeon #2, which was right under my nose the whole time. >.<

Anyway, Death Mountain awaits tomorrow night. I still need to find the red ring though.
