Yes, it certainly does, especially when you are busy.

Great! We had a great Mothers Day too. We had a fried chicken dinner from our local Dairy Queen. They make the best fried chicken around. Smile

What can I say? I think the Wii is the best console amongst the entire Seventh Generation of video game systems. It might not have the immense power of the PS3 or Xbox 360, but it's greatest strength is it's creative library of games. Puzzle games, platformers, unique motion games, Animal Crossing.... it goes on. Smile There are horrible Wii games, like "Ninjabread Man" or "Chicken Shoot" (which I happen to own Tongue), but hey, every console has it's share of bad games.

Perhaps I am biased too... I do love casual and retro games. Any way you put it, the Wii is excellent.

But, there are a few nagging things that I shouldn't make a big deal about, but they happen often enough that I have to do so.

The biggest one? The Wii Boot Up Screen, or the "Health and Safety" warning that appears whenver you start your system. I can see why Nintendo put this here... the motion controls involve a lot of physical activity, but still... they should have included the option to disable this warning screen after showing up a few times. If a person already knows about the health and safety warnings of a Wii system, why keep showing the screen? It's nagging and sort of insults your intelligence a bit. They should just update the Wii and replace it with a simple boot up logo, like the Wii U has.

Yep.. Wii U got rid of the health and safety nag screen at boot. I'm not sure if it shows up elsewhere though.

The second issue? Running stuff off of the SD card. You can store your downloaded games and channels on there, but it has to copy the entire game to the Wii internal memory to run it. That means you also need the equal amount of memory blocks on the main console as your downloaded game stored on the SD card.

They could have just allowed you to run the game direct from the SD card without copying it to the internal memory. Maybe SD cards read slower on a Wii? Wouldn't a class 6 SDHC or higher SD card nullify the need to copy over the game at run time?

I do notice with bigger games (WiiWare) that it seems to transfer enough data to start the game to the internal memory, and it fetches the rest of the game content off the SD like a disc when it has to load a level.

Yeah, even the PS2 itself has had a share of crappy, shovelwared games. And don't get me started on the NES, too. The lack of DRM on the Asian Famicom opened doors for bootlegs and hacks, although the NES did get their own share of such stuff, albeit at a more limited extent.

It's not often an underrated childrens TV show character shows up on national prime time TV....

ABC aired a 20/20 episode on the workplace, and there was this segment about the hidden "booby traps" at work. One of them was about over decorating your office, and that is where Kipper showed up...
