VB6 is fine IMO, but making API calls would require a song-and-dance number, such as when you want to read or write to a registry entry.

Well, I don't plan on going that far. Tongue

Changes made to systems:
- Removed Dongwa's SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality Champion PCI card. The card is causing timing issues on the motherboard (a known problem with these cards).
- Sally's SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion has now been moved to Dongwa.
- Sally is temporarily out of commission. A SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium regular edition is being sourced to be fitted into her.

Well, I felt it was time to upgrade my twin NES/SNES Famiclone...

This is the RetroDuo, considered by many to be the best twin NES/SNES Famiclone there is. So far, it's perfect. SNES and NES games play without any sound issues. The SNES video output is a tad bit softer than my old FC Twin (sort of like turning the sharpness knob on an old CRT TV), but it's still a very good video signal.

I could use an S-Video hookup since the RetroDuo can output SVideo for SNES games, but it doesn't work well for NES games since the NES never supported SVideo. Compounding that, Kipper has only one SVideo input and it's currently used by my satellite box.

I guess I should pull out my old switch box.

I'm also learning how to record audio tracks in GarageBand. Current project? Re-recording all my video game music tracks from SNES and NES games I have. My old FC Twin comes in handy for that.

I think with almost a hundred percent certainty I have a slipped disc in my back. Cry

It hurts so ridiculously much. While consistent exercise is supposed to help, I am so clumsy and have been falling more than my usual.

Ow. Did you visit the doctor yet? Being in constant pain is no fun. Sad

And yeah, both Prue and I posted at the same time. Odd.

Regular SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium sourced and installed in Sally. System back online.

Now all I need is to get Clementine and BingoBeaver back up.

Great...

The AC adapter for my digital photo frame died a slow, painful death just as I woke up today. Screen was becoming distorted so I unplugged it for a while. Then, nothing.

Now I have to find an equivalent AC adapter, or buy a new photo frame altogether.

Sad

Edit: literally had to bust the adapter open because it used one of those evil tri-wing screws. (Don't do this at home kids , it can be dangerous).

When I did, I found out the reason why the adapter failed. One of the capacitors was bulging. Sad
