RAMChYLD Wrote:Ponies cannot wait -.- for reasons I refuse to disclose, ponies are top prio-fat. The Wii U also most likely cannot wait due to LG's stupidity. Clementine, however, I think she can wait given how I've given up on Android development which is the only thing I was using her for. All software development work on my end stopped since two months ago after a minor mental meltdown.

Sorry that you feel that way, but you have to understand. You can't simply get everything you want at once, even if you somehow manage to win a lottery jackpot. That is one reason why you don't have any money now. You spent your money and credit cards on buying everything you wanted at once because you simply couldn't hold off purchasing them. If you would have just held back on some stuff, you could have had some money or credit right now to get a Wii U or the ponies that you do want now.

I'm curious as to the super secret reasons why you want Ponies now. There are some ponies that are made in limited quantities, but some ponies are manufactured all the time. I'm sure some of those ponies could wait until after the Holidays when the stores or online sellers restock said ponies.

You could have waited for, say, My Pal Scout. MPS is still on sale here in the states. In fact, I found him on sale at Kmart back in October.

Some toys are made all the time. Those toys or ponies can wait because they will be available likely for the next few years.

There was all that German language Polar bear stuff that I wanted, and still want. I do not have money right at the present as I bought some stuff that could have waited. I myself am slowly learning to think before I buy. I am not always successful, but I am getting there.

Well, you have your principles, I have mine. Right now, if it's just Clementine's PSU, I'd try to replace it. But... I'm confusing myself. I can't decide if I want a Wii U first or a particular pony (it's not really MLP btw, it's a Furreal Friends).

For the Wii U, I'm feeling conflicted. On one hand, I want to be able to play Super Smash Bros Brawl and go fishing and insect catching in Animal Crossing City Folk again. On the other hand the other non-timing-critical parts of Animal Crossing City Folk (which is pretty much anything not related to fishing or insect catching) works fine.

As for MPS, well, you try putting up with recurring nightmares of your rival taunting you and bullying you to no end. I've been called a loser bullied nonstop since Kindergarten. I refuse to take any more of it (and yes, as I've said many times before, this is my beef with that purple dinosaur. My preschool days up until my freshmen college year was utter crap. And that bugger was trying to imply that I'm a weirdo in that other people have fun in school except me because I'm the odd one, the one who's bullied in school instead of having fun).

It's why I had a total breakdown when those bronies picked on me at the MLP Facebook page. Too much bad memories come flooding back. It's also why I hate the season- a Santa website says I've been a bad boy but the bully that picked on me all the time was good. And that was after I disarmed a trap that bully set up to hurt some afternoon session class kids. It wasn't fair damnit. I just don't want anyone to get hurt. That bully had no right to beat anyone up as he pleases. But Santa doesn't think so. So that's it? I was born to be one of the bully's many punching bag then? No, I cannot have any of this. I do good and get punished in return. This does not fit into what I learnt about karma as a Buddhist. This world gone mad.

Well, just try adopting my principles. They aren't really my own. Millions of people do (or are trying to do) the exact same thing. It's called "Money Management". Try it sometime. You won't feel it right away, but manage your money for several months and you will realize you can have money to buy the stuff you want. I'm sure everyone else here at the forum (probably not you though) would agree with me on Money Management.

Money management can get derailed by unexpected medical or auto expenses however, such as car accidents and cancer treatments.

There should have been a way for you to test out Quetzal III before you bought him. And that LG TV should have some sort of "Game Mode" or some other mode that slows down the lag, but IIRC, you tried that and it didn't work much.

Right now, I have all my standard AV consoles run through Kipper, my DVDRecorder/VHS player. He has HDMI output, so in essence, all the AV stuff is being upscaled to HD 1080i. Even as Anna-Lena downscales it back to 720p, there is virtually no lag. There is very slight visible lag when you compare it to a CRT, but the lag is so short that it's not even noticeable in practice, and the pictures are virtually in sync with each other. I can still play my games without issues, and from Elsie, I can pull off the timed movements in SMRPG without issues, coming through 480p Component connections.

Unless..... if there is a way to send your Wii (forgot the name again) through HDMI, like with a cheap DVD recorder with HDMI, then that can potentially eliminate lag. But I don't know if you have any free HDMI ports on Quetzal III, or how much a bare bones DVD recorder with HDMI would cost there. Said DVD recorder would have to have 480p component input though.

If I ever need a new DVD recorder, it will be either a Magnavox or any recorder manufactured by Funai, which includes brands like Toshiba, Sylvania, and Emerson. James Rolfe, the person behind the AVGN, uses a Sylvania DVD recorder, and after using Kipper, I can see why. This DVD recorder is perhaps the best one I have used in regards to quality and no input lag. I can actually record myself playing video games and be great at them all the same.

Then again, many other DVD recorders, like my old Sony unit Samantha, induce input lag over analog sources, even when used via HDMI.

Well, it's confirmed- Clementine's Biostar has apparently bit the dust. I took the PSU to a computer shop to have it checked out and it was fine.

So where do I go from here? I'm thinking a completely new box (Phoenix Rise V), using the APU chipset. Unfortunately, this will have to wait until next year.

Don't throw out her old motherboard just yet. Did you already try doing a hard reset of it's BIOS? There should be a jumper or button that does a hard reset.

Perhaps the BIOS got corrupted somehow.

Another theory is that when Clementine's old PSU exploded, it could have done some unknown damage to the Biostar that eventually got worse with use, such as developing a bad solder joint somewhere or unnoticeable damage to a chip.

Finally, I got my Animal Crossing: City Folk town set up.

My name: Lars.

My town: Birdwell.

I was going to go for "Northland", but the name is too long.

I got my place selected and did all the jobs Tom Nook had me do, but now, a bigger task awaits me. Trying to pay Tom Nook an 18,000 Bell loan for the new house!

I shall explore more tomorrow.

fruits, fishing, bug catching

Second character fully paid off his house as well now.

Well, I did look into the battery, since motherboards running NVidia's chipsets are notoriously known to play dead if the CMOS battery dies. Went as far as pulling the battery out for a few hours. No dice.
