Just because one character is voiced by the same actor doesn't mean the Stanman thing will happen again. They are just voice actors who don't know you or that guy who was known as Stanman.

So, I decided to make a better transfer of that Peter Rabbit/Velveteen Rabbit VHS tape I did this past summer.

Peter Rabbit went alright with no issues, and I stopped the tape and DVD recording as I should. I edit the DVD title, and then I prepare to transfer over Velveteen Rabbit.

The VHS picture is complete snow!! Audio is there, but what good is a video tape without the video?

At first, I thought the DVDRecorder/VHS unit was defective. Then I remembered the head cleaner. A similar issue happened with my old DVD/VHS unit, and running a head cleaner through cleared things right up.

As for the source tape? Turns out, the magnetic material is starting to come off the tape! Right where I stopped the tape, there is this line on the tape, and shining a light through it reveals a clear diagonal slit in the magnetic material.

Now...that means I can't use that tape anymore, or else I have to run the head cleaner again, and the new DVDRecorder/VHS doesn't really like head cleaning tapes. I have another "Velveteen Rabbit" video, but it's the one for the old "ABC Weekend Specials" that were a staple of Saturday Morning cartoons for years. The version I wanted was off the same tape as Peter Rabbit. which was produced by a defunct Canadian studio called "Atkinson Film-Arts" in 1985, the same year the ABC one also came out.

But I shouldn't fret. I did get Peter off the tape before it caused more problems, and the same "Velveteen Rabbit" on that tape happens to be on DVD...officially.
