Today, we celebrated Benita's birthday (two days in advance) in a large mall and it was a lot of fun. Big Grin

I feel so very physically and emotionally healthier after spending the day entertaining Benita, Brooklyn, and their friends. It's so nice to be with people who love you. These girls adore me. The party with a singing and dancing theme was fun, exploring the mall's city with the girls was fun, making gigantic desserts with the girls was fun, and the whole adventure was just wonderful.

Children's birthday parties are the miracle cure for heart failure. Yep. If I held kid parties every day, I'd be cured before the end of the month.

During this wonderful day, we found out about the newest American Girl dolls.

All right, my jaw dropped.

Girls were yelling, "LOOK! BENITA AND BROOKLYN! THEY'RE BENITA AND BROOKLYN!"

Oh goodness, they do look much like Benita and Brooklyn. Marie-Grace's doll form resembles Benita more than the illustrations, with lighter and more reddish hair. The main difference is that neither sister has green-shaded eyes. The similarities are still amazing. Not only do the new dolls look like Brooklyn* and Benita, Cécile and Marie-Grace are best friends whose stories intertwine. How very destined.

* It is rare to find dolls resembling Brooklyn. I certainly did not expect to find any with stories set in the 1800s! What a great surprise.

An after-birthday party? Tongue

Just upgraded Wine to 1.3.28. Still no cure for that Mafia II shadow bug.

A small one, tomorrow. Technically, an after-party birthday.

Today is the day I was worried about. This is a milestone anniversary, and my heart goes out to the people who lost loved ones. Everyone born on 9/11 in my country must celebrate their birthdays with zest and joy, holding their heads high as proof good can be born any time. If not, the terrorists win.

I love my brother deeply, even though he did whine for everyone to be awake five hours ago for a birthday breakfast and then change his mind to sleep late. We had to cancel the restaurant reservations.

And now it seems that Sally's PSU is going to bite the dust too! >.>
She was running non stop for 5 hours on Friday- much longer than I'll normally run her. Reason being I was going ahead and fitting her with a new hard disk as she just outgrew her old 120GB. I never really expected that to happen, but it happened. After I unloaded the Counter Strike Complete package onto her.

Earlier in the evening, her PSU clicked a few times and appears to work, but then the system became extremely unstable. Read: random crashes, hangs and BSODs.

Then I restarted her, and she clicked a few more times, randomly rebooted once or twice, then no longer boots- powers on, but will not display anything on screen.

*sigh* having a really bad month with PSUs. Her PSU is an AcBel, which is an OEM company that makes the PSUs for CoolerMaster and Antec.

I like it, too. By the way, we were mixing ice creams together at Benita's party, and three of the several flavors mixed in made almond mocha pumpkin. This caused me to picture some characters playing together, which in turn had me wondering if Albatross' human form will always stay young.

Protip: Never tempt fate.

I tempted fate, and now Season 2 of FIM has a permanent villain Sad

And the name - Dischord - makes it sounds like an extremely scary one too- Given that Lauren Faust is in charge of the show, I won't be surprised if it sounds and acts like "Him".

I'm dropping interest in the series because of that.

But as I said before, I'm just into the toys. So I'll continue collecting those.

I'll have to get back to you on Dischord. The college doesn't have "The Hub" on their cable, so I may not see FIM Season 2 until Thanksgiving at least. (quick edit: I just remembered I can see it on the Hub website....when I don't have any college work to do that is)

I still don't understand why you don't like cartoons with villains in them. Shows with villains are more exciting, and (normally) the characters prevail over the villain anyway. (of course, for the times where the villains win, you can check TV Tropes Tongue )
I love foxes, especially the one in my avatar.

Shows with villains usually has a tradition where the protagonists, sometimes shamefully, lose first before winning in the end of the episode. Perhaps for David the moments of the protagonists losing is not enjoyable and traumatic? I myself particularly not too fond of Queen for A Day for this reason.
