You and your computer(s)!!
#1
Alright...since the thread wasn't started, I may as well start it. In this thread, to the best of your knowledge, tell about what your current computer is like, such as is it a laptop, desktop...what kind of processor it has, amount of RAM, etc.

Here is mine...

*Lilly*
Mid-2011 Apple Mac Mini

Lilly is my desktop computer, and she is mainly used for editing and transcoding video files and games, as well as being my main file store.

Processor: Intel Core i3 Dual-Core, 2.3ghz
OS: Mac OS X 10.7.4 "Lion"
RAM: 8gb
Hard Disk: 500gb
Graphics processor: Intel HD Graphics 3000 (integrated)

Lilly doesn't have any sort of optical drive being a highly compact computer, so I got a cheap Polaroid external DVD-RW drive that sits on top

*Greta*
Gateway NV57H83u Laptop PC

My to-go computer, and as of current, the one that gets the most attention.

Processor: Intel Pentium B960 Dual-Core, 2.2ghz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
RAM: 4gb
Hard Disk: 320gb
Graphics processor: Greta actually has two GPUs...the first one is the Intel HD Graphics 3000, integrated with the CPU, but she also has a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 610m with 1gb dedicated VRAM. Greta has NVIDIA Optimus to switch between integrated and discrete graphics when needed.
Has DVD/CD Writer drive

Image is somewhat outdated now...read below

*Wendell*
Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5139 "Laptop"

Wendell was my to-go computer from March 17th last year until May 7th this year. Wendell was fine at first, but I later found out that Webkinz didn't run well at all...it was slow and really caused Wendell to become sluggish when said slow Flash content was running. Granted, he was a low-end laptop, but I thought the Radeon HD 6310 GPU would at least handle Flash okay. Thus, I went and purchased the Gateway that would become Greta. Now, Wendell is my Linux computer, and he runs Linux better than Windows.

Processor: AMD E-350 Dual-Core, 1.6ghz
OS: PCLinuxOS
RAM: 3gb
HDD: 250gb IIRC
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6310 (integrated)
Has DVD/CD Writer drive

*HONORABLE MENTION*

Jasper...my very old tower computer...acquired from one of my good friends who sadly has gone offline for no apparent reason for nearly a year. He has a Pentium III 1ghz processor, 1.5gb RAM, 160gb HDD, ASUS ATI Radeon 9600XT graphics card, 5.1 sound card, standard CD-ROM drive and a LG DVD/CD writer drive. Before Lilly, Jasper was my main file store and computer somewhat. If you just have casual games and applications that don't require a lot of system power, like playing music, Jasper was alright. The internet was slow though not because of the connection, but his old Pentium III couldn't keep up with the increasing complexity of web content. Thus, Lilly replaced him...all Jasper does is act as a stand to hold Lilly up so she has proper air flow and not overheat.

*IN LOVING MEMORY*

Chrysanthemum

My very first laptop.

A Gateway M285-E Tablet/Laptop convertible PC. She served me well from 2006 through March 2011. Sadly, her graphics processor was becoming increasingly unstable due to heat damage, and she is now almost completely unusable. Her battery wasn't much better. If she were perfectly alright and didn't have any problems, I would still be using her as my laptop computer. I still hang on to her though just because.

Btw, in case you're wondering how I manage so many computers with only one set of screen, keyboard and mice, well, I have a device call a KVM- two of them actually - which is essentially a switch that allows me to go between the Edison, Dongwa, Sally and Kiki on one screen, and Maxwell, Clementine, Bingo Beaver and Cleo on another. Helen is unique in that she has her own screen as she's a MCPC.
The Best Medicine > Magic. Because SCIENCE! can prove the former.

Quick addenda for all my current systems....I just use the integrated audio on all of them. Tongue Jasper is interesting because he didn't have an integrated audio chip, but his 5.1 sound card used a chipset that was common in integrated audio systems.
