Wikipedia Contributors?
#1
I'm just wondering whether are there Wikipedia contributors here, who contributed significant amount of text to Strawberry Shortcake related articles, like this one, for example. I ask this because I haven't found many SSC fans on the Internet*, so I guess those few are concentrated to a few number of sites, forums; and so there is a high chance that I actually meet the Wikipedia, YouTube, etc. contributors anywhere else where there are SSC-related content.

* OK, I suppose there are really many SSC fans from the originally intended audience: 6-10 years old girls. But they are berry less likely to write up so accurate Wikipedia articles. Tongue

Most adult members of our boards, active and retired, contributed at least a little to the Wikipedia pages. In my case, I only wrote a few descriptions. I don't remember what all I wrote, unless I am quoted. I have no idea if it was mostly us who wrote up the pages.

I think I did a substantial amount of the 2003 character description pages. And I was the one who insisted that the page be kept to 32k because I was using mobile devices to access them

Yea, large pages is not a big deal with modern smartphones like Android and iOS devices, but when you're stuck with Windows Mobile 5.0, or worse, Windows Mobile 2003 or Palm OS 5.2.1, and you're stuck on a 160k EDGE line because your cell co is too cheap to roll out HSDPA nationwide (heck, they don't even have EDGE in some backwater towns!)...

Did you make updates to SSC-related content on TVtropes as well?

For example:

TheyChangedItNowItSucks/WesternAnimation Wrote:Strawberry Shortcake has gone through this a few times. When the 2003 series came out, fans of the 80s classic series wailed. When the series was revamped in 2007, fans bawled again. And when the 2009 relaunch came, fans of the 2003 series booed, hissed, and cried.
Whoever worded it, congratulations for the accuracy! Smile

Eh, it should be edited to say that not all fans were upset at every change. I only disliked the last change, and there are people who liked all versions from the start.

I find that information that seems solely based on our interactions should be left out of official channels, as we are just one site amongst many fans and don't know what other fans think.
It's fun to say berry! I berry talk all the day through!

Don't know who's responsible for that one, but I know that both Ramchyld and I have contributed a lot of SSC examples. For example, anything that essentially falls under No Export For You is from him.

I admit. I made that one when I was in a bad mood. I'll fix that.

Is this okay?
* ''StrawberryShortcake'' has gone through this a few times. When the 2003 series came out, some fans of the 80s classic series criticized it for having changed too much. When the series was revamped in 2007, it was criticized by those who was against the removal of the existing Fillies and those who disliked the Purple Pie-Man. And when the 2009 relaunch came, a group of fans of the 2003 series criticized it for the lack of moral values and emphasis on fashion, and on the transition to CGI.

Edit2: Nvm, just cloned over the entry in RuinedForever.

* ''StrawberryShortcake'' has been prone to this due to the uncertainty of the direction each of the master licensees want to take the franchise which has angered fans due to it's frequent changes. When the 2003 version started, some (and I stress ''some'') of the older fans felt that the franchise was doomed. And when the 2003 version was aged-up in 2007, there was trepidation from some (particularly, fans of Honey Pie Pony, who weren't pleased that [[PutOnABus she had retired to Ice Cream Island permanently]], and even then the send-off was only mentioned in a chapter book and not on the TV series officially, and after that the existing fillies, Honey Pie and Ice Cream Island was never mentioned ever again, while others who disliked the Pie-Man voiced their dislikes in the franchise bringing him back). Then there's the 2009 series, which were widely decried by the Educational TV connisseurs who're drawn to the series by the 2003 series being educationally wholesome as lacking in terms of educational content and emphasis on beauty over moral values and exhibiting uncourteous behavior, as well as being nothing more than a 30-minute toy commercial.

What? Even I don't know when that was. It's not like they always behaved perfectly in the DiC version, either. That wouldn't be realistic.
