True. I still want to play Cuphead, but luckily it's on Steam. I'm also liking the performance boost 8.1 has given Pearl.
I may invest in a better antivirus suite, or install Malwarebytes Premium. Windows 8.1 already has Defender, but Malwarebytes should take care of the more intrusive stuff. I still have a fear of ransomware despite doing my best to browse the web safely.
At this point, I would need a very good reason to go back to Windows 10, but so far, the forthcoming Spring Creators Update seems a bit like the same-old same-old... along with the websites-acting-as-apps, aka PWAs. Have you tried Avast lately? The paid tiers has ransomware protection bundled in.
Not really, but I think Avast bought out AVG, so it's part of the same company. I wouldn't be surprised if newer AVG versions use a similar code base, but I don't know for sure.

By the looks of it, newer versions of AVG do share at least a similar UI, so it could be more or less just a reskin with a few other features thrown in.

People still raising hell over the non-working Windows Store. The forums are nice, but all the MS mods and techs seem to do is go around and ask the people the same troubleshooting steps they either already tried, or end up having no effect. Someone stated they ran into the same errors after a fresh Windows 8.1. Pro installation.
Who knows how long it will take to fix this, but perhaps this is another nudge-nudge tactic on MS to convince people to move up to Windows 10? Hmm...
BTW, I have been posting there in those specific Windows Store threads under the handle "wb8979".

Looks like MS finally fixed the Windows Store issue for 8.1 users. I just got Netflix installed just to test it again.
Now, I need to get my other news apps.

One funny thing I find amongst casual Windows 10 users (judging by screenshots of random people's Windows 10 systems) is that they never really bother to remove the Cortana search box in the task bar.
Who knows if some Windows 10 users find it useful, such as looking for files on your PC. Cortana is integrated into Bing, and we all know how popular Bing is.
Bonus points if said person's screenshot shows them using another browser while still having the Edge icon visible.

I don't use Cortana much either, and not even the Halo heritage by way of her voice actress sold me into that thing lol.

I finally found my copy of Animal Crossing Wild World for DS. I bought it at a pawn shop a few years ago, but never got around to playing it because, well, New Leaf.
I'm really curious about what town or towns are saved on there.

And... it's a hacked up town, with sacks of bells laying everywhere in perfect lines. I'd guess someone did some Action Replay DS magic on it?
It's a shame too. If the town wasn't a hacked up mess, I would keep it. But I'm going to have to trash the place and rebuild.
