Unfortunately, I doubt Macs support Nvidia Optimus, so if I wanted to Hackintosh her, the 610m would need to be disabled. :/ It's either that we wait for some coder to port Bumblebee to OS X, or for Apple to actually implement Optimus to their Macbooks. The former would be a long shot though, considering the state of the project as of now.

So, it is my birthday today (Oct 25), but I don't feel anything special. I don't even remember when birthdays stopped to feel special for me.
How about you guys? Does your birthday still feels special, or has it stopped to be so since a while ago?

How about you guys? Does your birthday still feels special, or has it stopped to be so since a while ago? Well, when one grows older, birthdays do lose that special touch. It's because as we get older, we realize the real world won't really stop to honor our own birthdays, and we usually have to go to work like any other day of the week.
Even so, my birthday still feels a little special. I at least try to get a birthday dinner in, usually something at a sit-in restaurant or an entree I enjoy a lot.
I wonder Sandy... do you know the specific reasons why birthdays stopped being special to you? I'm curious. but hopefully not too curious.

I have no idea why. Perhaps the same reason you mentioned. I still went to a rather expensive restaurant to have a dinner with my family, though. At least it still felt special in that one aspect.
Anyway. I have a question. This is just me wondering how you guys will answer it.
If you have to choose between these two options, which one will you pick?
1. You die.
2. You live but you have nothing other than the clothes on your body.

2. You live but you have nothing other than the clothes on your body. I would choose option 2, since during summer time we get occasional storms coming through my area. Big storms like tornadoes. We just had a scare this last summer as we weren't sure whether or not our house would be blown away by a tornado, leaving us with just the clothes on our backs.
In such a situation, it would be better if option 2 was taken. Most material items are replaceable and the only thing that matters in such dire situations is your life.

My birthday this year was significant, as it was my 50th. The milestone seems important. However, I don't remember the day itself! Hah!
I don't know that birthdays themselves are important to me. The significance of continuing my life is important, and with each year I do think I improve as a person and get further away from my awful childhood. I like getting older. What worries me is that I will eventually stop liking this. Eventually, growing older will be a harsh sign of my mortality. It's very likely I'll be the first one here to die, and that's sad. Also, because women in general outline men, I will almost certainly outlive my older brother (according to my intuition) and possibly outlive my younger husband. That would be sad, as well.
Anyway, I would go with the second option. I would be able to rebuild my life with the second option, yes?
If my loved ones have to die for the second option, on the other hand, I would go with the first option and sacrifice myself.

It is indeed an important milestone in one's life. In other news, my Aunt Gloria informed me of a certain Strawberry Shortcake doll being sold at a discount, and while they're willing to buy one for me, they're worried some of my folks would be ticked off at it.

Hmm... so some of your folks don't really approve of you acquiring SSC stuff? Or am I guessing this wrong?
