Name thoughts:
  • Emmett Philip ⇔ Hawthorne Jam
  • Elias Owen ⇔ Grapefruit Pie
  • Madeline Jacqueline ⇔ Chiffon Cake
  • Millicent Barbetta ⇔ Coffee Cake
This feels uncreative on my part. Sad If you can't tell, the "⇔" symbol is supposed to be a double arrow.

Sandy gets credit for coming up with Hawthorne Jam's name. I'm not satisfied with Grapefruit Pie as a name, though, and three boys with Jam as a second name seems like overusing jam. Have any better ideas for Grapefruit Something? I actually thought of Grapefruit Upside-down Cake for personal reasons due to the people we'd name Elias Owen after. The problem is, that reads and sounds so awkward.

Yes, provided Marble Cake gets to stay with the family, there could be three Cakes. The three Cakes would not be all of the family's daughters, however. The three Jams would be all of the family's sons, so naming all three Something Jam seems lazier.*

Chiffon has two meanings. It's a type of fabric and it's also, when used for desserts, a foamy essence somewhat resembling clouds. As for Coffee Cake, I'm just thirsty for coffee right now.

I hope I wasn't rude when I said I didn't like Soursop Sorbet for a name. It's just that it wouldn't make sense for Grapes to call her child Sour after dropping the name herself.

* By the way, I have heard of a family with something like six or seven sons where the father's name is James and all the kids are also named James. Most of them go by their middle names. Still, I can imagine seven or eight people turning around in answer to "James"!

Hmm, simply Grapefruit? Persimmons only has the name of a fruit as her name so why don't apply the same to one of the boys? Just a random thought. But I feel that the girls' names are kinda... rushed?

I also have been thinking of not giving fruit/dessert based name, mainly because their father is not from such theme. But judging from the condition of the universe, I guess it's not feasible.

By the way, recently the name Almond Raisin Cookie came into my mind. Could this name be used for you?

Oh, yes, and there are characters whose names are like that. That makes perfect sense.

They are rushed and I really don't like that. I do like Chiffon, though. I came up with the other parts of those names at a silly hour of the night when tired.

That's what I thought with the first set, too, and I came to the same conclusion. I already knew Peach would be named for food since Benita's name was long-planned.

Raisin Dough is reserved should these kids have another female cousin, after their long ago departed aunt whose name was Sourdough. In real life, this applies to the name Margaret. Sour Grapes had a niece named Raisin Cane in a 1986 comic book, so Raisin Dough's name would also be a nod to that since she would be her niece. By the way, there are golden raisins. I'm guessing you knew that.

Hmm.... I'm still thinking....

Regular names are actually easier than these because there are more choices and such!

Hmm, any reasons for changing back and forth between "Hawthorn" and "Hawthorne"? Sounds good anyway.

My brain forgot that while Hawthorn is the fruit-yielding plant, Hawthorne is this guy.

Luna... I don't know...

Lunaria sounds too much like Eulalia (⇔ Persimmons)...

That leaves the very rare Lunaris. One lunaris is an uncommon flower sometimes (and only) grown in California. The other lunaris was known about in the olden days, forgotten hundreds of years ago. It was a flower that was said to grow under crescent moons and cure warts.

Ha ha... You'd think Gladys could get rid of her wart with her crescent moon wand, then, although I guess flying around zapping plants probably puts a dent on that.
