Today, we finally got our new fiber optic modem activated, and the speed boost is very noticeable. I can finally get the full 6mbps service that we pay for. Plus, I now have true 1mbps uploads. Previously it was around 512kbps, which made YouTube videos upload very slowly. 1mbps may shorten the upload time a bit, but I have yet to test it.
Too bad Audrey has no internal WiFi card. You think that a desktop PC made in 2013 would have a built in WiFi module along with an ethernet port. No such luck as she only has ethernet. Thus, Audrey will have to be without internet for about a week or so until I can get a USB WiFi adapter. But, that is why I have Greta and Hazel. They have WiFi. Tomorrow is a very special day in America. Thanksgiving!
This is the day you get to spend at home, eat loads of delicious food, watch some NFL Football if you are a football fan of course, and just get to spend some quality time with your family and friends. Unfortunately, some Big Box retailers would rather profit from this special holiday by throwing open their doors tomorrow. One of these stores is Kmart, who plans to open at 6am and remain open through Black Friday night. Sad really. Personally, I don't mind shopping on Black Friday, but I would still love to see the big box retailers hold off on opening their doors during Thanksgiving itself as it infringes on their employee's right to spend that day at home to relax or to be with family. Employees of the stores are beginning to speak out about these unfair work hours, and there may be changes coming.... I hope. But wherever you are... Happy Thanksgiving! If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, then... Happy Thanksgiving!! If you have to work on Thanksgiving Day dealing with bustling crowds... lets hope that the ever growing concerns of your fellow employees will finally lead to some action being taken about these ever increasing Thanksgiving day sales. And try to have the best Thanksgiving day that you can. Don't let these forced working hours wear your holiday spirit down. I love foxes, especially the one in my avatar.

Even though I am particularly good with technology, I still do stupid things at times, like today... Thanksgiving.
I was recording "The National Dog Show" to DVD after the Macy's Parade, and I normally leave such recordings unattended. However, my Dish Network DVR will automatically shut off sometime during the day to perform a hard drive check, and I forgot all about it until I found the receiver had went to standby. I turn it back on, and not long after, the hard drive scan began. Frustrated a bit, I go and do a soft reboot of the receiver, since I thought the hard drive scan was something similar to how Windows defragments hard drives. Big Mistake. Long story short... all of my previous recordings were wiped out as the hard drive had to be re-initialized. That is not the worst part... during the test, there is a message saying not to interrupt it. >.< I felt really stupid, and now I have to re-record "Amigazazo" aka "My Big Big Friend,", and help pay $17 for the Spanish language TV pack it comes with. On the bright side, I can get the Spanish Cbeebies now. But yeah... despite my best efforts, I can be very stupid with technology if I get very frustrated. It almost never happens with my own computers though. I love foxes, especially the one in my avatar.

Hmmm, odd, my post from DOS did not get through.
-- Hmmm, CBeebies Asia already dropped 64 Zoo Lane when I finally got the channel :/ I think most of the episodes are out on DVD tho, albeit in Region 2 French... Which will be a problem because I deleted the French dictionary from my brain recently. Btw, if you want to get nightmares, watch Baby Jake. Seriously -- How can Discovery Kids Asia have Wild Kratts, Fetch and Peep, but not Arthur or Daniel?!?

I have about 6 hours worth of 64 Zoo Lane recorded to VHS, made at the time Noggin was running the show. I'm going to start archiving the Spanish version right away, even though I can't speak Spanish. One thing I am worried about is Disney Junior. Dish still hasn't picked it up yet as they are in another contract dispute with ABC/Disney, and I'm worried that by the time I do get Disney Junior, PB&J Otter and Stanley will be gone.
