Anyway, the answer is "The Play's The Thing".
Please bear with us I did a quick scan tho, and you can readily get a 3DS in Indonesia, but it's reputation as a "Pokemon" (read: kiddie) console and the lack of eShop, plus the price of the games, may put you off.
That and possibly a flashcart bundled with the 3DS.

RAMChYLD Wrote:Please bear with us Yeah, Sandy. I'm practically new to the 3DS (or any DS in general), and so, questions and discussion about this is necessary. It got a little carried away there, but I am learning new things about the 3DS.
RAMChYLD Wrote:Anyways, remember the 3DS extra videos that Ashens put up a long time ago with a bunch of QR codes? Well, it's a bait and switch troll video. The first one gets you Noseybonk as advertised, but the subsequent codes nets you very weird Miis, including a representation of the "Forever Alone" troll... I didn't know Ashens made such video. I found it, but curiosity may get the best of me. At least I know what the first and last codes are. I actually had to Google for the "Forever Alone" thing. When it comes to most internet memes, I live under a rock because I don't browse that famous imageboard that gives us these memes.
That's the thing about Ashens. He is a very entertaining reviewer of things, but he also plays tricks on his viewers at times and add creepy stuff to his videos.
RAMChYLD Wrote:Also, Wade, has Angel passed you her friend code yet? I asked her and she said that she will pass you the code personally... Nope. No PM from her so far.
RAMChYLD Wrote:Some people actually abuses the feature, so don't get offended if the slurped Miis has a "dirty" face or has a completely offensive greeting (most likely thing to happen of you take your 3DS to college and back, since it's usually college students that do this kind of things). Noted. I won't be headed to college that often anymore since I'm done with general schooling, but it still can happen. Nintendo really needs to have some sort of filter to detect "dirty" Miis or text and prevent them from being shared automatically. But then people wouldn't like that kind of censorship....

Nintendo could've added the option of a work-safe filter. Censorship won't cut it as what happened when they had a rather puritanical policy of removing off-colour references in games back in the pre-ESRB days.

huckleberrypie Wrote:That and possibly a flashcart bundled with the 3DS. Erm, that's another problem. The 3DS actually uses a whitelist for it's region protection (read: Nintendo includes a database of games in the 3DS, and the 3DS will only run games that are in the list, even carts. DS carts I think rely on an online database hence the requirement to be online when running a DS title, but it may also have been moved to the whitelist as well). The same list is used to block flashcarts. Someone made the R4 work on the 3DS once by spoofing the game signature to match a title in the whitelist, but then Nintendo blocked it when the next update for the 3DS came out (yeah, it has an upgradable OS).
I don't care about flashcarts tho. What I'm angry about at this moment is how the eShop isn't available in Malaysia. Sheesh, you'd think Nintendo would want to one-up Sony (who despite all the wrongs they did in the past, at least cared for the Malaysian customers who bought the PS3 where online services are concerned) and make their online store available to compete with the SEN Store.

God, I hate this ISP. Between the stupid censorship and blocking, various sites like strawberryforums also accuse me of being a spammer. The stupid ISP is using an AOL-like Infrastructure where everyone's forced to a gateway/proxy server. So one idiot on the network doing stupid things gets everyone blocked by the honeypot project. It's ridiculous. The only reason I didn't ditch it yet is because my cellco of choice hasn't launched LTE (again, Malaysian corrupted politics at play- DiGi is a Norwegian owned company, so the government isn't giving them the license first. Instead, local telcos that are owned by their cronies, Maxis and Celcom, got to launch their LTE 7 months ago and Digi has to wait until 2014- they're only allowed a few small trial areas at the moment), and that LTE modems are expensive...

The whitelist option may have been used for DS games. I was able to start NSMB (a DS title) without having WiFi on, contrary to what it says in the manual. Perhaps the system update I performed brought in a whitelist for DS titles.

I recall at my college, a range of their IPs were blocked by honeypot and I couldn't post on these forums while at school. I think even at one point, I was unable to load the home page.
Even though nearly all your ISPs there are poor, just imagine what it would be like if it were a monopoly like my ISP. My ISP is the only ISP in over half of my state. The good thing here is that they provide good service, and they are going to replace the old cables with fiber soon. But, what happens if my ISP starts raising prices, imposes censorship or data caps? There is no where else to turn to.
Well, there is satellite internet, but that would rule out any online gaming due to horrible latency. Animal Crossing would become unplayable if you wanted to visit another players town. There are also data caps to deal with too.
We also have wireless carriers offering data plans, but that is also a monopoly too. Verizon, and they aren't really that great a company. And in my rural area, we, of course, don't have 4G LTE. If I lived closer to the bigger cities, 4G LTE might be viable.
Living in a rural area is great, unless you want choice when it comes to your internet provider and various other things but that is not the topic at hand. For that, you must move to the bigger cities where there are more options, such as a choice of at least two cable or phone companies, and multiple cell phone companies. Perhaps even WiMax.
Why must rural people wait several years for modern internet? We may be rural, but we deserve to be on the same level as my metropolitan neighbors.

Wow, it got quiet here.
Lately, I have been enjoying 3D Photography with Clifford. I'm getting over the fact Nintendo used VGA sensors in the 3DS because the 3D is very good. Too bad I don't have a 3D display of any kind or a stereoscopic printer, if such a printer exists.
Oh, and I finally found a copy of Mario Paint that comes with the SNES mouse! It even works on my RetroDuo Famiclone!

Aaaand another weekend.
Today half of the furniture in my bedroom were replaced. From this into this.
All the dust from the fitting and drilling works are still all over the room even after mopping up the floor. I probably will spend the following week cleaning everything up.

Wow.... the new furniture looks sweet, especially the built in lighting! I wish I had furniture that nice. But, maybe I will get nicer cabinets whenever I get my own place to live.
What became of the old furniture? I will have to say, the old stuff does look nice too despite being rather small.

Jk, they were brought to a furniture workshop to be renewed, and then they will be sent to my cousin's still-empty new house.

Depressed again. This country is just so filled with wrongness...
