My asthma combined with bad heat and female problems caused me to become disoriented while doing errands outside yesterday, so I went into a shop to rest. The employees called the police, and let me tell you, New York police are rarely if ever your friends. They don't do their jobs when they need to and are overzealous when not necessary. Apparently being sick warrants the police forcing you to come with them. And having kids with you - not all the kids were with me at the time, half were - means you brought the kids in to steal candy bars. Because they were looking at the candy bars, and you said they could have some, but you didn't buy any because you were too winded. That means you were stealing despite not taking any. Because not all the kids are white, and apparently it was racism time in addition to discrimination-against-sick-and-disabled time.
"I just want to take us home. I can get better at home. We are two miles from home. Can't you take me there if you don't want me going by myself?"
No, no, we're going to take you several more miles from your home into a hospital where you get to sit for hours in a waiting room ignored with people who wouldn't care if you fainted on the floor from dehydration and asthma! Let's not let you go home even though your husband is there, waiting and wanting to take care of you! We are police officers and we are [strike]bored sadists looking for prey[/strike] doing this because... we say so!
-.-
The officers eventually got bored in the waiting room and left, at which point I checked myself out without ever being checked on by a medical person and went home. Now I have scars from where the police needlessly poked me with needles and restrained me! That is not how you handle exhausted people, and I was very clearly exhausted instead of drunk or something. Gah.
That sounds terrible. Next time you better not go out alone, and I said alone means being the only adult.
