The PS1 Classic is a pure cash grab given just at how rushed the thing feels, from the game selection to the lazy UI. The PS1 classic could have been a good thing if they put in more well known games like the Crash Bandicoot trilogy and Spyro the Dragon.

For all the bad things Nintendo does, they do know how to make classic mini consoles right. Any other company that has attempted a mini retro console has failed to replicate the quality in one way or another. It's either poor emulation or just being ChristmasRushed.

Oh, and it appears the recent issues with Microsoft Edge were caused by the latest Nvidia driver 417.01. A hotfix driver version, 417.21 was released, and I installed it. It lists a fix for Edge not responding after playing video. It also fixes issues with the color settings in the control panel.

Tell me about it. It's as if they didn't look at how people fondly remember the console and just threw whatever they can throw out of the meeting room floor.

ATGames' consistently bad track record is what led to Sega cutting ties with them in favour of developing a Genesis console in-house. Which is a good thing if you ask me.

And please let me know how the driver goes too. I've been holding out on an older version as I didn't want to end up having a half-baked experience with newer builds.

I didn't know JonnyGuru worked at Corsair. Tongue Also, includes some shots of cheap PSUs exploding like firecrackers.

Me neither, though he kinda' missed the mark when he recommended me an FSP Hexa which gave up after a year or so.

The Nvidia hotfix drivers are working for me. Both the color settings and MS Edge work again.

Also, why does RealPlayer still exist? Yes, they have their odd RealTimes video editor thing, but RealPlayer is still there, struggling to remain relevant. They still offer the $39.99 plus version, and you need to pay up to play HD videos in RealPlayer. https://www.real.com/realplayer_pricing

RealPlayer is completely pointless now. Why pay for HD video playback when Windows 10 has built in support for MP4/MKV HD videos? As for any old RealAudio or RealVideo files, you can easily play those in VLC or RealAlternative.

I wonder how many gullible people actually end up buying RealPlayer Plus and not knowing they can play HD videos or watch DVDs with free software?

Any performance issues with the 4xx.xx series drivers?

Makes me wonder why they haven't declared bankruptcy too lol. The problem here is that there are elderly or older people who don't know better or are easily swayed into otherwise blatant bullshit. Even a formerly premium media player like Winamp recently made their MP3 encoding feature free for everyone in case people feel like going oldschool such as myself.

The now infamous Walmart gaming PC has a "Great Wall" 500watt PSU. But it's not just some no-name PSU. Great Wall is a Chinese OEM that has manufactured PSUs for well known brands like Corsair and OCZ. According to this video, Great Wall may have made my pair of Corsair CX450s. A rather interesting PSU review with a surprising conclusion. And I don't mean an explosion either. Tongue

As for the Nvidia 4xx.xx drivers, so far, so good. I tried out one of my pinball sims earlier, and I didn't experience any framerate drops that were reported in the Nvidia subreddit. This could change if I play a more demanding game. I may run the Mafia II benchmark just for the heck of it.

This is probably unnecessary too, but I found out honestech released a patch for it's bundled VHS capture program that appears to fix the missing video preview. I installed it.

And finally, MS confirmed that they are switching Edge to a Chromium-based engine early next year. They even mention that this could enable them to bring Edge to older versions of Windows, like 7 and 8/8.1. I can see them bringing Edge to 8.1, but 7? Windows 7 support ends in a little over two years and 8.1 doesn't have much of a market share anymore.

OTOH, I could install Edge on Greta if they do bring it to older Windows versions.

Perhaps they decided to port Edge to older operating systems to appease those holding on to older Windows versions. And the switch to Chromium is a surprising development, considering how they often opt for their in-house browser engine.

It also makes me wonder if they're going to deprecate IE even further and make it more vestigal, i.e. (pun unintended) a stub for Edge with the Chromium engine used for web browser controls in applications like Winamp. Problem with that is with ActiveX controls used by certain organisations.

I forgot to mention that MS also isn't ruling out an Edge port for macOS.

Perhaps Apple can dump Safari and make Edge default, just like it did with IE back in the late 90s/early 2000s? Tongue

I will say that a Chromium-based Edge will likely increase performance. EdgeHTML gets bogged down easily by pages that have continuous scrolling such as Facebook or YouTube, becoming more and more unresponsive as you scroll. This does not happen with Chrome, Opera, or Firefox.
